In order to treat the citizens better in the police stations, ‘community liaison officers’ (CLO) have been appointed as the front desks in Vehari.
Vehari police had posted a Community Liaison Officers (CLO), the purpose of which was to treat the citizens with polite behavior and make them feel safe during their visit to the police station (PS).
Vehari District Police Officer (DPO) Zahid Nawaz Marwat, while speaking to The Express Tribune, said that the CLOs had been deputed in all police stations across the district.
Female and male personnel had been recruited for the task of community liaison. Reportedly, these officers were specially trained to fulfill their duties.
The purpose of deployment of the CLOs is to give a warm welcome to the people coming to the police station as well as treat children, the elderly and women with kindness.
The desired workplace attitudes include treating citizens in a better way, arranging water and refreshments for the citizens visiting the police station, marking the application at the front desk and connecting the citizen to the investigating officer.

The CLOs would be accountable to each district police officer.
The Vehari DPO said that better and safer environment could be promoted only through community policing. “We will make Vehari a model of excellence. Vehari police are committed to protecting the lives and property of the people including those of the business community.”
