New CTO takes charge in Rawalpindi

Rai Mazhar Iqbal was earlier posted as SP of Saddar and Rawal town

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal assumed charge of his office on Thursday.

A smartly turned out contingent of police presented guard of honour to the new CTO who was famous as ‘commander’ in the frontline crime-fighting cops.

Earlier posted as SP of Saddar and Rawal town, the new CTO directed the administration staff to make the driving licence procedure further easy and to facilitate the visitors.

He said that he would try to make Rawalpindi free from accidents while improving traffic flow, people and police distance would be reduced to redress their grievances, he added.

The new CTO ordered the traffic officials to behave well with the motorists during their duties and ensure that traffic flow.

He also examined the security condition of the headquarters and checked food quality in the canteen.

The new CTP visited Asghar Shaheed Auditorium and paid tribute to the slain traffic officers who had lost their lives in the line of duty.

On the occasion, Mazhar said that Rawalpindi was an important district and its people kept high moral values.

On the first day in the office, Mazhar warned that corruption and injustice with people would not be tolerated.

He assured that all measures would be taken for the welfare of the traffic personnel while the caretaking of martyrs would be ascertained at all costs.
