ITP drive to control lane violation in full swing

Main objective of the road safety campaign is to ensure safety of people, says ITP

ISLAMABAD:

The campaign of the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) launched to check lane violation is in full swing as road users are being informed on traffic rules to minimise accidents in the capital, a spokesperson shared on Tuesday. He mentioned that the main objective of the road safety campaign is to ensure safety of people.

Following directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Qazi Jamilur Rehman, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Farrukh Rasheed constituted special squads to control lane violation on various roads and ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city.

The official maintained that ITP’s squads remain present on all important roads, including Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway, to educate road users on traffic rules. Pamphlets and leaflets are being distributed to create awareness among citizens as well, he added.

SSP Traffic said that action would be taken against those not following lanes while driving. He hoped that citizens will follow traffic rules and help ITP in ensuring safety on roads.
