Schools in cold areas to remain close till February 14

PESHAWAR:

All the universities, primary and middle schools across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reopened on Monday after being closed down due to the second wave of the prevailing coronavirus.

Director of the Education Department, Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim, said that due to the cold weather, winter vacations were extended up to February 14 in some areas.

He confirmed the reopening of universities, primary and middle schools across the province with strict standard operating procedures, adding that it is imperative to carry forward the educational system while keeping ourselves and others safe from the pandemic.

Schools in highly cold areas would reopen on February 15.

The heads of education institutions, Ibrahim said, have been directed to ensure strict compliance of SOPs at their respective institutions.

“Every student shall wear a protective mask and schools administration would be bound to provide hand sanitisers to the staff and students,” he concluded.
