PCH sets up Covid vaccination centre

With the Covid-19 vaccination drive set to start in the country, a vaccination centre was established at the Poly Clinic Hospital (PCH) in Islamabad on Saturday.
According to officials, vaccine jabs would be administered to the frontline healthcare workers in the campaign's first phase from February 1.
Earlier on Wednesday, Planning Minister Asad Umar announced that the Covid-19 vaccination drive would start in Pakistan next week, as the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) unveiled a comprehensive plan to administer the vaccine.

The minister confirmed that the plan for vaccination had been finalised. “The system for vaccination is in place. Hundreds of vaccination centres in the country will be administering the covid vaccine,” he said in a tweet.
The announcements came as China has pledged a donation of 500,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine made by the Chinese firm Sinopharm. Pakistan is also expecting more dozes from Covax vaccine sharing platform.
Anti-typhoid shots
Meanwhile, a typhoid vaccination centre has also been set up at the healthcare facility to administer the typhoid vaccine.
