ISLAMABAD:

A task force of the executive committee of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group (Pak-Afghan PFG) has stressed the need for facilitating traders at the Chaman border for prosperity and development along the frontier. At a follow-up meeting of Pak-Afghan PFG, held on Monday to discuss the committee’s visit to Quetta and Chaman border in the coming days, the task force recommended expediting progress on setting up Special Economic Zones near the Chaman border and establishing border markets. The executive committee also deliberated on livestock export to Afghanistan. On the occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Establishment Arbab Shahzad said use of technology and modern techniques at the border would make life of those people easy who crossed it on a daily basis. “Deploying proper staff of Pakistan Customs and Federal Investigation Agency will facilitate the common man and traders at the Chaman border,” he said.
