Ministry, teachers in rift over posting ACRs on website
Punjab Education Ministry has directed educators of all categories to upload all of their on-service personal Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) on the website within 10 days.
The situation has resulted in a rift between the teachers and the education ministry while the teachers’ organisations have decided to challenge the decision in the court.
The officials including Shafique Bhalwalia, Basharat Iqbal, and Akhyan Gul told The Express Tribune that the decision was impractical. They said that the educators could not produce old ACRs.
The officials responsible for sending the reports did not do it, now the government is the asking the educators to get the old reports, they said.
The officials said that most of the teachers who compiled ACRs were now retired.
They added that teachers could not go from city to city where they were previously posted during their service to acquire past ACRs.
The officials demanded the Education Ministry should issue orders to related authorities to produce ACRs.
Or else, they warned, that the educators would take to the roads if they were harassed in this regard while announcing to challenge the decision in the High Court too.
