118 more people contract virus

District administration continues smart lockdown in different streets of Islamabad to reduce transmission of infection

ISLAMABAD:

The novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases continued to surge in the federal capital as 118 more people have tested positive during the last 24 hours, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said on Friday.

According to an official of NCOC, as many as 126 cases were reported on Thursday while 127 cases were reported on Wednesday.

He said so far 40,548 Covid-19 infection cases were reported from the federal capital so far while 461 people have succumbed to the virus. He added 38,414 patients had been recovered completely.

Meanwhile, on the direction of Ministry of National Health Services, the district administration of Islamabad had continued smart lockdown in different streets of the capital to reduce transmission of the infection in the selected streets and other sectors.
