Sugarcane juice is particularly a favourite during hot summer afternoons. When you think of a glass of chilled sugarcane juice with a drop of lemon in it, it’ like your thirst is automatically quenched.
But the drink isn’t just good to drink but it also holds many health benefits. It’s a natural detox and a natural coolant, even though it comes during winters.” Ideally, one should have sugarcane juice at least thrice a week, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar suggested. As compiled by The Indian Express, here are some other benefits of sugarcane juice.
1. Works like a diuretic
The stimulant properties of sugarcane juice make it vital in decreasing the chances of contracting infectious diseases. In fact, consuming some first thing in the morning helps avert urinary tract infections (UTI), especially when you’re undergoing a burning sensation or acid reflux. It also helps preventing kidney stones
.2. Skincare guardian
Another important benefit of sugarcane juice is that it fights acne of all sorts, reduces blemishes and keeps the skin glowing and hydrated. Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are said to have great benefit for skin and one of the most important AHA found in natural ingredient is glycolic acid in sugarcane that locks all the radiance of the skin and stores it.
Another skincare ingredient known as squalane or squalane oil helps maintain natural sebum, locks in moisture and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It is a derivative from pure sugarcane which is stable, non-comedogenic and resembles the natural oils our skin produces, helping it to remain balanced.
3. Instant energy booster
The most natural and purest form of sucrose is found in sugarcane that gives our body the right amount of energy for the day. It normalises glucose to regain sugar levels but also rehydrates our bodies and drives fatigue away.
4. Heals wounds
While it has all the benefits mentioned above, sugarcane juice also works as a wonder ingredient in speeding wound healing. The rich amount of sucrose helps heal wound in a short span of time. Some suggest you can apply sugarcane juice directly on a wound to speed up the curing process.
