The International Labour Organisation (ILO) this year was moving from commitment to action in the fight against child labour, She said that child domestic labour was a greater problem in big cities as children who are out of school had to join their mothers as who work as domestic servants. She said that the federal government has to set an example to prohibit child domestic labour. A Commission is presently preparing a draft for child rights which would be launched soon, she added.

Recently a disabled domestic worker has been taken into custody by the Rawalpindi Child Protection Bureau (CPB) while a case has been registered against the employers.

CPB District Officer (DO) Ali Abid Naqvi mentioned that the 10-year-old Sana Manzur from Sahiwal has a leg disability and was employed by a couple from Rawalpindi who hired her through a private Islamabad-based company.
