Clerks go on strike, demand increments in pay

They locked their offices over government's disinterest over socio-economic welfare for the poor

RAWALPINDI:

The clerks across the garrison city observed a pen-down strike and locked their offices on the call of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Tuesday over rising inflation and the government’s disinterest over socio-economic welfare for the poor.

APCA Divisional President Chaudhry Mubashir Ahmed and other officials, including Shehzad Kayani, Fida Hussain Naqvi, Raja Shahid and Raja Aftab Ahmed, issued a joint declaration regarding a pen-down strike and lockdown in offices for Tuesday. Following the decision, APCAs in Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal followed the call and clerks in all districts of Rawalpindi division shut down offices.
