First digital policy for Balochistan approved

The meeting decided to formulate a formal policy for the protection of cattle and better breeding in the province

A meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Monday approved the first digital policy of the province for the year 2020-21.

Under the digital policy, e-governance, public access to digital services, provision of cheap, standard and high speed internet facility besides promotion of ICT companies in the province through digital capability, digital economy, software and IT parks is on the cards.

According to sources present in the meeting, the establishment of a state-of-the-art centralised data center will also be implemented.

The Balochistan cabinet members also approved a bill to amend the rules framed under the Balochistan Tourist Guides Act 2014, the Balochistan Vaccination Ordinance 1958 and the Balochistan Education Council 2021 draft bill with some changes.

The meeting decided to formulate a formal policy for the protection of cattle and better breeding in the province that will help in prevention of infectious diseases and pave the way for poultry production in Balochistan.

It is pertinent to mention that the provincial cabinet also approved funds to increase security measures in Kalat. They also approved the disbursement of approximately Rs111 million as compensation for the victims of the August 13 earthquake last year in Basima and Koregi.
