RAWALPINDI:

All employee representative organisations of government institutions and departments in Punjab have decided to march towards Islamabad on February 10 and stage a sit-in if they are not provided increments in their salaries, a spokesperson shared on Sunday.

They have issued a schedule wherein strikes and complete lockdown of offices are announced from January 19 (tomorrow). The representatives of different employee organisations, including Muhammad Irshad, Zafar Ali Khan and Sardar Hanif, said that they would observe strikes at government offices across the province for increment in salaries and allowances.

The officials added that they would stage a sit-in at the entry points of Punjab Secretariat and outside the deputy commissioner offices in 36 districts of Punjab on January 26. They mentioned that the same would be repeated on February 2.

The government employees will observe a pen-down strike and lockdown of offices once again on February 9. The showdown would be on January 10 when the disgruntled employees would march towards Islamabad with families and a sit-in outside Parliament House if their demands are not fulfilled.

They vowed that they would continue the sit-in until the notification of increment in salaries is not issued while ruling out the possibility of dialogue anywhere else other than the demonstration itself.
