Four sustain injuries in Quetta explosion

One of the injured person was in serious condition, said a hospital official

QUETTA:

At least four people, including three passengers, on Saturday sustained injuries in an explosion at Saryab Road in Quetta.

According to the police unidentified people planted an explosive device in a trash bin near Maulana Petrol Pump that went off when a local bus carrying passengers was passing through the area.

“Four people, including a local bus cleaner and three passengers, are injured,” confirmed a senior police officer Abdul Haye Bangulzai, adding it was suspected that an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated with a remote control.

After receiving the information, the police and Frontier Corps personnel rushed the site and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Quetta.

One of the injured person was in serious condition, said a hospital official.

The police initiated investigations of the incident. So far, no one claimed the responsibility of the explosion, while the target of the blast was unknown yet.
