Old arms licenses revalidation deadline extended
Deadline for computerised arms licenses is September 30, 2011. Old arms licenses will stand invalid from October 1st.
ISLAMABAD:
A high level meeting Interior Ministry meeting on Tuesday decided to extend the deadline for revalidation of old arms licenses by one month.
All district level offices of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will accept revalidation requests till September 30 this year.
The holders of old arms licenses will have to visit their respective NADRA offices with their original National Identity Cards, Original Arms License and a complete application form for revalidation. The meeting was chaired by the interior secretary, who, along with other ministry officials, also decided to waive the government fee, meaning only a nominal fee of Rs500 will be charged.
Later, Interior Secretary KM Siddiq Akbar paid his introductory visit to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters.
He was given a presentation on the working of all wings of the agency. The secretary pledged his support for granting pay packages to FIA staff that are equal to those of all other law enforcement agencies.
