Sarwar says pushing for small dams’ project

The minister expressed that the biggest problem for the Potohar region

Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar said that the construction of small dams in Potohar region on a fast-track was the priority of the government.

Speaking about the development of reservoirs in his home constituency, Sarwar said that the parliament committee comprising government and opposition members was completely functional to get the small dams’ project rolling.

All resources would be brought in use for the completion of Daducha, Chuhan, and Mahuta dams, he said chairing a meeting at Commissioner Office on Monday.

The minister expressed that the biggest problem for the Potohar region was the shortage of drinking and irrigation water. Sarwar directed the district administration t to provide lists of all proposed small dams to be constructed in the Potohar region.

He said that they would also review the provision of funds for small dams from the agricultural package.

The aviation minister said that every government talked about the Ring Road project but the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was willing to embody it.

He appreciated the efforts of the Rawalpindi commissioner and his team for pushing forward the Ring Road project. Sarwar expressed that the Ring Road project could be labelled as the flagship project of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
