Sindh reports 829 fresh Covid cases

With six more fatalities provincial death toll stands at 3,699

KARACHI:

Another 829 coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported in the province overnight, said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday.

He apprised that with the newly reported cases and deaths, the virus tally and the death toll in the province rose to 226,338 and 3,699, respectively.

Shah stated that 10,571 samples were tested for the virus between Friday and Saturday, of which 829 turned out to be positive, constituting a positivity ratio of 7.8 per cent.

On the other hand, 747 Covid-19 patients regained health overnight, lifting the number of recoveries in the province to 204,075.

Shah informed that at least 18,564 people in Sindh are currently infected by the virus. Of these 17,668 are in home isolation, 885 are being treated at different hospitals and 11 are admitted at isolation centres.

According to the statement issued by the Chief Minister's House, 609 cases emerged from the provincial capital alone, with 277 cases reported from the East district, 230 from South, 62 from Central, 15 from Malir, 13 from Korangi and 12 from the West district.

Meanwhile, 34 fresh cases were reported from Hyderabad, 19 from Mirpurkhas, 18 from Shaheed Benazirabad, 17 from Tando Allahyar, 13 each from Ghotki and Thatta, 12 from Sanghar, nine apiece from Tando Muhammad Khan and Jamshoro, eight from Kashmore, six from Khairpur, five from Larkana, four each from Qambar-Shahdadkot and Jacobabad, three each from Naushehro Feroze and Sukkur, two from Sujawal and one each from Badin and Shikarpur.
