LWMC to clean areas around hospitals today

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) launch a week-long campaign on Monday to improve the sanitation operations and maintain uniform standards of cleanliness in all areas of the city.

On the first day of the campaign, special cleanliness arrangements will be made around all government and private hospitals in the city, the company announced on Sunday. On the second day, cleanliness arrangements will be made in and around all the main roads and on the third day, all the markets and surrounding areas. On the fourth day, special cleanliness arrangements will be made in all government offices around the city. On the fifth day, special operation will be carried out around all important mosques, churches and cemeteries, while the last day of the campaign has been set aside for the parks and their surroundings.

An LWMC spokesperson said an awareness drive will also be launched to sensitise people about proper disposal of waste. He added that citizens should also cooperate with the company in keeping the city clean and avoid littering. In case of complaints, citizens can contact phone helpline 1139, the Clean Lahore mobile application and social media, he added.
