Paedophile rapes, kills minor brother
A man sexually assaulted before murdering his eight-yearold minor brother whose body was recovered from a drain in Nishtar Colony.
The victim was a differentlyabled child. Police on Friday found clues that the suspect was a serial paedophile killer. A cousin of the victim, a five-year-old boy, had also gone missing five months back.
There was no news about him since then. DIG Investigations Lahore Shariq Jamal said that police were investigating this aspect also but substantial evidence to assert that he has been involved in other such crimes earlier is premature. He claimed for a breakthrough in this matte within two days. The arrested suspect has been identified as Faizan, 16.
The suspect had lured his younger brother away from home on the pretext of buying him candies from a nearby shop. The suspect took the minor boy to a deserted place and hit with bricks and a glass bottle to death after sexual assault.
The suspect, later on, dumped his body into a drain. Police had taken the suspect into custody by taking notice of his suspicious behaviour on the occasion. DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal said that police had substantial evidence to assert that Faizan was the murderer of his minor brother. The suspect also escorted police to the crime site. Sexual violence against children is rampant in Lahore.
For the last few years, horrific incidents keep on being reported every other day. Last week, a seven-year-old minor girl had been assaulted after strangling to death by two suspects including her cousin in Sundar area.
The suspects had dumped her body into a pond to hide their crime. Two weeks back, an alleged serial rapist who sexually assaulted six minor girls in Sarai Mughal area of Pattoki was arrested by the police. A case had been registered against the suspect. Police said the suspect used to lure girls by different means.
The victims were between 10 and 12 years of age and he had been arrested on the identification of the victims. A report by Sahil, a non-governmental organisation, revealed that at least eight children fell victim to sexual abuse daily on an average in the country
