The Islamabad Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 15 suspects, including four people who had been declared proclaimed offenders by the courts.
The suspects were arrested from various areas of the city and police claimed recovering hashish, heroin, alcohol and weapons from them, a spokesperson shared on Wednesday.
He shared that on the directions of Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed, all officials of the capital police accelerated their efforts to curb anti-social elements in the city.
Upon these directives, Golra Police arrested Jamal Khan and recovered a 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from his possession while Tarnol Police arrested an accused, Farooq, and recovered a 30 bore pistol from his possession as well.
Furthermore, Noon Police apprehended two accused, Tariq and Sardar Khan, allegedly involved in illegally selling petroleum products in the area while Shams Colony Police arrested Abbas and recovered 150 grammes of hashish from his possession.
Meanwhile, Khanna Police arrested two accused and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession while Nilor Police arrested a suspect and recovered 210 grams of heroin from his possession.
Similarly, Sihala police arrested three accused, Jamal Masih, Suleman Masih and Aamir Waseem, while recovering a total of 58 litres of alcohol from their possession. Cases were registered against all nabbed persons as further investigation is underway.
Additionally, the Islamabad police also nabbed four proclaimed offenders from various area of the city during special crackdown against absconders.
The DIG appreciated the performance of the teams and directed all station house officers for effective crackdown against those involved in drug peddling activities. He further directed police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to the citizens.
