Dr Dre hospitalised post brain aneurysm

Hip-hop star in ICU now

Music mogul Dr Dre suffered an apparent brain aneurysm on Monday. The No Diggity rapper is reportedly receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, reported Variety.

His team issued a statement from him on Tuesday night via Instagram. Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shoutout to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One love,” he said in the post.

The rapper and producer, real name Andre Young, was purportedly rushed by ambulance to the medical center’s ICU on Monday. The prolific producer is currently in “stable and lucid condition,” as per TMZ.

Dre is considered as one of the top earners in hip-hop with deep roots in the music industry, beating Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs when electronic company Beats was launched by Dre in 2008. The company was launched alongside a longtime friend and collaborator Jimmy Lovine that became a hot-seller immediately. Dre and Lovine further sold it to Apple for $3 billion in 2014.

The former co-owner of Death Row Records and N.W.A co-founder also produced the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, based on a hip-hop group from Compton, California, that skyrocketed into many disputes due to their abrasive lyrics and transforming music that kindled a culture war.
