Covid-19 tally crosses 220,000 mark in Sindh

Sindh reported another 1,049 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, after 12,457 samples were tested, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The province's infection tally has now reached 220,501, the CM said.

He added that 11 more Covid-19 deaths were reported on the day in Sindh, lifting the death toll to 3,634.

According to the CM, 707 more Covid-19 patients have regained health, increasing the total number of recoveries in the province to 198,577.

He said 18,290 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in Sindh, of whom 17,472 were in home isolation, 807 in hospitals and 11 in isolation centres. He added that the condition of 720 patients was critical and 71 of them were on ventilators.

Of the newly reported cases, 828 were reported from Karachi, with 375 detected in East district, 227 in South district, 89 in Korangi, 74 in Central district, 43 in West district and 20 in Malir.

Moreover, Hyderabad saw 40 fresh cases, Badin 26, Khairpur 18, Tando Allahyar 11, Naushehro Feroze 10, Ghotki eight, Larkana and Sanghar seven each, Jamshoro and Sukkur five apiece, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sujawal four each, Umerkot, Matiari and Jacobabad three each, Tando Muhammad Khan two and Kashmore-Kandhkot one.
