ECP meets tomorrow in the wake of PDM’s Jan 19 protest
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called a meeting on Wednesday (tomorrow) under the chairmanship of the chief election commissioner to formulate a strategy in the wake of probable Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) protest in front of its office on January 19.
Addressing the PDM public meeting in Bahawalpur on Sunday, JUI-F chief, who is also the president of the 11-party anti-government alliance, announced that the PDM would hold a protest demonstration in front of the ECP in Islamabad on January 19 against the delay in PTI foreign funding case decision.
The ECP meeting will mull over the security arrangements for January 19 and other important matters. It will discuss the preparations for the Senate polls and holding of Punjab local bodies’ election. Officials from Punjab government will brief the ECP on the preparations made and steps taken to-date for the purpose.
The meeting will also discuss the gender report.
