Sindh sees another 12 deaths, 855 infections
Another 12 patients succumbed to the coronavirus overnight, lifting the provincial death toll to 3,625 in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday.
Shah added that 855 people were diagnosed with Covid19 when 10,165 samples were tested between Sunday and Monday, lifting the virus tally in the province to 219,452.
Meanwhile, another 440 persons also recovered from the contagious disease overnight, which took the number of recoveries to 197,870, he added. According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House, 17,959 persons in Sindh are currently infected by the virus. Of these 17,169 are in home isolation, 779 are being treated at different hospitals and 11 are admitted at isolation centres. He further apprised that the condition of 695 patients is critical and 72 of them have already been shifted on ventilators.
Of the newly reported cases in Sindh, 791 were detected from the the provincial capital. He presented the districtwise break-up and said that 194 cases emerged from the South district, 337 from East, 52 from Korangi, 50 from Central, 25 from Malir and four from West districts.
Meanwhile, Tando Muhammad Khan reported 32 fresh cases, Hyderabad 29, Sanghar 15, Mirpurkhas 13, Dadu 12, Naushehro Feroze 10, Larkana nine, Qambar-Shahdadkot eight, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Jamshoro and Umerkot six each, Khairpur, Shikarpur, and Tando Allahyar four each, Kashmore, Sukkur and Thatta one each.
