Polio virus detected in sewage

The report claimed that the virus was detected during the laboratory tests

PESHAWAR:

The Polio Emergency Operation Center has claimed in a report that polio virus has been detected in the sewerage of three areas including Shaheen Muslim Town in Peshawar in addition to Kohat and DI Khan districts.

The report claimed that the virus was detected during the laboratory tests which was a main cause of concern as the denial cases were also on the rise in these mentioned areas among the parents.

“We appeal to the parents and family heads of these high risk areas where the crippling virus has been found in the sewage to please vaccinate their children regularly in order to prevent them and eliminate the virus successfully,” appealed the Polio Emergency Operation Center.
