LAHORE:

A member of Punjab Assembly from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has sought a ban on women visiting the Badshahi Mosque in ‘immodest’ dress.

The demand was made by MPA Sumaira Komal through a resolution submitted in the assembly secretariat.

In the resolution, she stated that women visiting the mosque or offering Friday prayers there were seen wearing inappropriate dresses, which was regrettable.

It was disappointing that women entered the mosque in dresses that were not in accordance with religious norms, she stated.

She demanded the imposition of a ban on women entering the mosque in inappropriate dress.
