3 ways to achieve luminous skin this season

From moisturisers to serums: glow this season with these tips and tricks for dewy skin

KARACHI:

In this season when none of the DIY totkas (hacks) from your grandmother work, reconsider the options of what should go on your skin. Of course, the chilly season does not come without its cons, with dry, flaky and dull skin being at the top of our list of gripes. Not only can the cold air and wind strip your skin of any signs of moisture, but heat from your electric heater can do so as well.

The odds are absolutely weighted against us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do our best to get our dew on every month of the year, or the entire year? Here is a list of items we suggest for the perfect glow:

Moisturise

There is no such thing as over moisturising. Slugging a moisturiser or a petroleum jelly is the solution to glowy skin. All skin types are recommended to slug anything creamy on the skin that allows the skin barrier to stay intact under harsh weather. It is suggested for oily to acne prone skin types to also use moisturiser be it infused with ceramides or Hyaluronic acid. Never forget to apply moisturiser below your eyes as it allows under-eye area to be hydrated and plump.

Oil Based Serums

To secure moisture into your skin, a serum would protect and heal your skin from the damage that can be caused if left bare. The ingredient that could hydrate and heal skin includes squalane and Hyaluronic acid. Rosehip oil is also considered as a hydrant when it comes to retaining moisture in the skin.

Keep up with your Sunscreen

When the temperature keeps decreasing, one of the last things on your mind is putting on SPF before you head out the door in the morning. But, the sun can still do damage no matter how cold it is or how cloudy the weather might seem outside — which can add to dryness and further damage your skin. Make sure you’re still putting on protection during all 12 months of the year, no matter how pointless it might feel.
