LAHORE:

Contrary to PPP’s reluctance to tender en masse resignations, PML-N Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has maintained that Bilawal Bhutto has in fact endorsed all of the PDM’s decisions, proving that all parties are on the same page.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday, Marriyum said the PPP’s endorsement of all of the PDM’s decisions means that they are ready to resign from the assemblies and march on PDM’s call.

On PPP chairman's announcement of fighting the PTI-led government on all fronts, which was being interpreted as their decision of remaining part of assemblies, she said the decisions taken by the PPP in its Central Executive Committee meeting will be put before the PDM meeting on January 1.

Regarding the telephonic conversation between PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, she said she had no knowledge about it.

In a separate development condemning the hike in electricity tariffs, Marriyum said, “Imran is looting the poor people of Pakistan by increasing the cost of electricity, gas, medicine and food items, including sugar and flour, every other day.”

The former information minister accused the government of planning another massive wave of inflation to rob the nation of its hard-earned money, saying this why PM Imran is so desperately begging for negotiations with the opposition.

Marriyum said another robbery of public money was under way through procurement of overpriced LNG. “The selected and imposed Imran-led government is late in the procurement of LNG and is now looting the nation by procuring LNG at extremely high rates.

"When will Imran constitute a commission to investigate the delayed procurement of overpriced LNG and the daily loss of billions to the country? Imran patronises such theft of public money. He makes up a commission to distort the facts and then forgets about it altogether. It is the responsibility of the head of state to guard the national treasure, not to help mafias get away with looting national wealth.

“The commission made after Rs400 billion theft in sugar and Rs200 billion in wheat are examples of this sinister strategy. The Rs122 billion robbed in LNG is the latest in this series. How many times will Imran try to fool the public with such tactics?"
