Man ‘sexually assaults, stabs’ boy

Victim was lured outside of village where suspect took him into the bushes to rape him

A man allegedly sexually assaulted, stabbed and injured a minor boy while trying to rape him in Dijkot on Monday. Police registered cases and started searching for the accused. According to the police report, in the case filed by Munir Ahmed, a resident of suburb village 225GB, it had been stated that he had gone to the wedding of his relatives.

During that time, the complainant’s eight-year-old grandson, the son of Javed Iqbal, was busy playing with walnuts in a bazaar.

Later, the accused identified as Hasnain, the son of Latif and a resident of said village, told the victim to go out of the village and play there. The accused also promised the minor boy that he will buy walnuts for the victim.

The accused reportedly lured the minor boy into the bushes near a graveyard where he tried to sexually assault him. After the minor boy resisted the rape attempt, the accused stabbed the victim in the back of the neck and shoulder, injuring him.

At the noise of the boy, two nearby persons Waqas and Zeeshan who had come to the graveyard for visit rescued the victim.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl made noise and thwarted rape attempt in the city. The accused managed to escape when nearby persons caught him red handed.

Police registered a case against the accused and started raids to arrest him.

Police said the accused identified as Imran, the son Abdul Sattar, lured the 14-year-old girl when she was going to buy bread in Ghousiabad. The accused took her to his house and tried to rape her but she made noise and thwarted the attempt.

Incidents of physical assault and murder during rape were not uncommon across the province.

On September 1, a 15-year-old boy was severely injured in firing allegedly after the assailants’ attempt to rape him failed due to his resistance in Muzaffargarh.

Reportedly, the accused asked the 15-year-old victim to go with them to eat fish. The accused identified as Omar Korai, Shafat Jhabil and Meena Korai, took the boy to the forest of Landi Pitafi where they tried to rape him.

On resistance, the accused shot his son at a sensitive part of his body and fled the crime scene.

On February 14 last year, a woman was stabbed during a rape attempt in Qila Kalarwala Town, Sialkot.

The victim was alone in her home when accused Kashif, Usman, Gulfam
and Muhammad Sarwar barged in.

The suspects took the woman to a room and tried to gang rape her. However, the victim raised a hue and cry and put up resistance.

After hearing her screams, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and tried to catch the culprits. When the accused saw the people approaching them, they stabbed the victim with a knife and fled the scene.
