‘Siblings in schools entitled to fee discount’
Siblings studying in different branches or campuses of a school are entitled to a 20 per cent concession in fees as per the concession offered to siblings as separate branches of a school are still part of the same school unit.
This was declared on Friday as a division bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), comprising of Justice Ikramullah Khan and Justice Muhammad Nasir Mehfooz, as it issued a detailed verdict on school fees.
In the order, the court declared that different branches of a school are still part of the same institution and as such, siblings studying in different branches or campuses of a school system are entitled to get the 20 per cent fee relief.
The court further noted that all branches of a school system are bound to extend the 20 per cent concession in fees to siblings.
The verdict had been issued in response to a writ petition of Alamzeb Khan. It added that under the Private Schools Regulatory Authority Act 2017, all campuses or branches of a school working under the same management are indeed considered to be a single unit. Considering it otherwise will be unjust as far as parents are concerned.
