Gauahar Khan looks ethereal in Saira Shakira at her wedding

This year has been one for intimate celebrity weddings! While many stars tied the knot in low-key affairs, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, others opted for a rather extravagant affair. Bollywood actor and former Bigg Boss winner Gauahar Khan was one of the stars who opted for the latter.

The Ishaqzaade starlet tied the knot to beau Zaid Darbar on Christmas Day and the couple shared photographs of the wedding on their verified Instagram accounts. "Qubool hai," they wrote as the caption.

Fans showered their love and blessings on the happy couple. Khan and Darbar donned matching ivory ensembles for their big day, as the starlet looked ethereal in Pakistani designer Saira Shakira's creation. The heavily embellished outfit was paired with traditional kundan jewellery, and a dark pout. Zaid chose a sherwani and churidar in the same colour.

The nikkah was followed by a reception, which was attended by some of Bollywood's biggest names, including film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Khan and Darbar had announced their wedding date on social media and kept fans updated with photographs of their preparations as well as their lockdown love story. On Thursday, a day before the wedding, Khan even shared photos of her mehndi ceremony for fans and followers.

Darbar also shared photographs clicked after the mehndi ceremony. "Writing our love story on each other's hearts forever with the blessings of our family and friends and above all, Allah,” he wrote.
Earlier this month, Khan unveiled her wedding invitation card and it had a caricature perfectly portraying their bond.
