Sindh reports 1,107 fresh Covid cases, 21 deaths

As many as 1,107 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported in the province overnight, said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday, adding that the provincial coronavirus tally has soared to 208,514.

Besides, Shah said that another 21 people succumbed to the coronavirus between Wednesday and Thursday, lifting the death toll to 3,440 in Sindh.

According to the statement issued by the Chief Minister’s House on the day, 12,646 samples were tested on Wednesday and Thursday, of which 8.8 per cent tested positive.

Shah further stated that 649 more patients recovered from the contagious disease, which took the number of recoveries in the province to 185,648 to date.

Of the newly reported cases, 946 emerged in the port city alone.
