A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing of former president Asif Ali Zardari's plea against the decision of the accountability court in the fake bank accounts case due to the absence of the petitioner’s lawyer.

During the hearing, the bench, comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Ghulam Azam Qambrani, was informed that Zardari's lawyer Farooq H Naek could not appear in the court as he was busy in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.

Javed Iqbal, an assistant to Naik, requested the court to adjourn the hearing until after the winter break. The court granted the request and adjourned the hearing till after the winter break.

Zardari has challenged the decision of the accountability court of rejecting the petitions regarding the quashing and scope of the Park Lane, Thatta Water Supply and Mega Money Laundering supplementary references.
