SC seeks report on non-payment of dues

Petitioner, a former PQA employee, says court orders are not followed

KARACHI:

The Supreme Court sought on Tuesday a report from the deputy attorney general, Karachi Port Trust authorities (PQA) officials and other parties.

A two-member bench, comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, was hearing the plea filed by former PQA employee Rasool Bakhsh Shar over the non-payment of his dues.

The court directed the parties to submit the report within two days.

According to the petitioner, he served at the PQA for 14 years and following that, at Korangi Fish Harbour for another 20 years.

Yet, the PQA has not cleared my dues, he has stated in the plea.

The court inquired from the petitioner whether the issues was still not resolved.

At this, he replied that court orders for the release of his pension and other allowances were not followed.

The court issued notices to PQA officials and other parties, directing them to submit a report on the implementation of court orders by December 24.
