Covid claims 27 more lives in Sindh

Another 1,005 coronavirus cases reported overnight

The coronavirus claimed as many as 27 more lives in the province overnight, lifting the death toll to 3,379, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the CM House, the province saw another 1,005 fresh Covid-19 cases when 10,914 samples were tested on the day. The provincial tally of confirmed infections now stands at 206,489, said Shah.

The CM stated that there are 18,918 active coronavirus cases in Sindh, of which 18,079 are in home isolation, 826 are being treated and 13 are admitted at isolation centres. Moreover, the condition of 731 patients is critical and 86 of them have been put on ventilators.

On the other hand, he stated that 2,590 people recovered from the contagious disease between Monday and Tuesday, which took the number of recoveries to 184,192.

Of the newly reported cases, 742 were detected from Karachi, with 325 from the East district, 176 from South, 97 from Central, 58 from Korangi, 50 from Malir and 36 from West.

Meanwhile, 37 people were diagnosed with the virus in Hyderabad, 27 in Jacobabad, 22 in Sanghar, 13 in Dadu, 11 each in Jamshoro, Naushehro Feroze and TandoAllahyar, eight each in Tando Muhammad Khan and Thatta, seven apiece in Sujawal and Ghotki, three each in Umerkot and Kashmore, two in Khairpur, one each in Mirpurkhas and Badin.
