As many as 644 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus in the province, when 10,234 samples were tested between Sunday and Monday, constituting a low positivity ratio of 6.3 per cent, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday. With the newly detected cases, the virus tally has soared to 205,428 in the province.
Shah stated that 19 more patients succumbed to the contagious disease between Sunday and Monday, lifting the provincial coronavirus death toll to 3,352. On the other hand, the chief minister apprised that 872 patients recovered from Covid-19 overnight, taking the number of recoveries to 181,602. According to Shah, there are 20,530 active coronavirus cases in Sindh, of which 19,707 are in home isolation, 810 are being treated at different hospitals and 13 are admitted at isolation centres.
The condition of 708 is stated to be critical and at least 89 of them have been shifted to ventilators, he added. Shah stated that 514 fresh coronavirus cases were detected from Karachi alone. He shared the district-wise breakup as 158 cases from the East district, 129 from South, 114 from Central, 48 from Malir, 37 from Korangi and 28 from West.
