Urmila Matondkar is being shamed for having a Muslim 'terrorist' husband

And she is getting back at the trolls like a boss

Bollywood diva Urmila Matondkar tied the knot with a Kashmiri entrepreneur, Mohsin Akhtar Mir in 2016. While the actor enjoys a blissful marriage life, she reveals she had been constantly mocked by trolls for being a Muslim. So much so, that her religion was changed to Islam on her Wikipedia page. The actor is now hitting back at everyone who has attacked her husband on the internet.

Calling the constant troll attacks on her husband and his family 'unfortunate', Urmila, in a conversation recently with Mojo Story, shared, "He was called a terrorist, a Pakistani. I mean, there is a limit to where it should go..."

According to Mid-Day, the actor had further added, "They (trolls) have even infiltrated my Wikipedia page and they have gone and put my mother's name as Rukhsana Ahmed and my father's name as Shivinder Singh, two human beings who must be living somewhere in India but I don't know of. My father's name is Shrikant Matondkar and my mother's name is Sunita Matondkar."

"To top it all, my husband is not only a Muslim but a Kashmiri Muslim. We both follow our religions in an equally staunch way. That gave them a bigger platform to troll me and constantly target him and his family. It was very unfortunate,” she added.

During her conversation with the online portal, the Janam Samjha Karo star said that she is not thick-skinned. "I don't have a thick skin but I think sensitivity is one of the strongest points of a woman. Being able to have that compassion, that empathy and that sensitivity is what makes me a woman," she said.

The 90s favourite married Mohsin in an intimate ceremony on March 3, 2016.

Recently, the actor's Instagram account was hacked as well. The Cyber Cell of the Mumbai Police on Monday registered a First Information Report (FIR) over the hacking of Shiv Sena leader and Bollywood actor's Instagram account. The account was later restored.
