According to the Foreign Office, FM Qureshi was received by Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai Ahmed Amjad Ali, senior embassy officials and senior UAE foreign ministry officials on his arrival.

During his visit the foreign minister will hold meeting with UAE’s top leadership and would deliberate over various issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations, promotion of trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.

FM Qureshi would also meet the Pakistani community and interact with international media during his visit.

The foreign minister's visit would be a continuation of the development and further strengthening of the high-level relations with Muslim countries, the FO stated adding that the welfare of Pakistan’s nationals abroad was among the top priorities of the government.

Earlier on November 28, Foreign Minister Qureshi met UAE minister of state on the sidelines of OIC foreign ministers’ meeting and raised the issue of visa restrictions being faced by Pakistani citizens.

Qureshi underscored the need to address the issue at the earliest during a meeting with Reem Al Hashimi on the sidelines of the 47th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Niamey, Niger, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
