Petition filed against Musharraf in Bugti murder case

Former President Pervez Musharraf's name is included in the FIR of Akbar Bugti's murder filed in the Supreme Court.

An application has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking suo moto notice on the non-implementation on the FIR of Akbar Bugti's murder.

Talal Bugti, president of the Jamhoori Watan Party and son of the late Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, has filed the petition in the Supreme Court asking for the implementation of an FIR registered against Akbar Bugti’s murder.

The names of former President Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao, former Balochistan governor Owais Ghani and former Balochistan chief minister Jam Yousaf are in the FIR.

Authorities concerned weren’t registering an FIR against Bugti’s murder till the Balochistan High Court ordered them to do so in October 2009.

Talal has pleaded that most of the people named in the FIR are in Pakistan, but they haven’t been arrested yet. He has also pleaded that Interpol should be activated to bring Musharraf back to Pakistan and face the law.

Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a military operation in 2006 in Balochistan.
