K-P chief minister says move will help ease traffic load on Peshawar roads

To ease the congestion in the city, the provincial government has decided to move bus terminals from Peshawar to outside the city. This was stated by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday while talking to MNA Shukat Ali at the CM Secretariat.

Mahmood said that the development and rehabilitation of the provincial capital was a priority for the government. In this regard, he said that they had launched a comprehensive revival plan to restore the beauty of the city. Under the plan, he elaborated how they were addressing the traffic issues by expanding the roads of the city and reducing environmental pollution and restore the past beauty.

The citizen empowerment project will see water supply lines in the city changed, while a solid waste management system will introduced complete with sewerage treatment plants. Ali, who hails from the metropolis, was told that work on constructing family parks has started.

To reduce the traffic load and congestion within the city, he said that the provincial government has started shifting the general bus terminal to outside the city and work is underway to construct various bus stands in different areas of the provincial capital.
