Hospitals of the twin cities are running short of space, a top health official in Islamabad said on Monday.
He asked the public to observe precautions recommended for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
District Health Officer Zaeem Zia urged citizens to strict follow health expert’s recommendation regarding Covid-19.
He said that it has been observed that people have adopted a casual attitude towards following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) despite the emergence of a second wave of Covid-19.
Zia said the percentage of infection positivity in Islamabad was 5.3%. Spaces in hospitals have reduced and everyday people are dying of this virus. Older people and those with weak immunity should be more careful.
DHO said that till a vaccine is available, people must adopt precautionary SOPs.
