ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court on Saturday fixed the contempt plea against Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid for hearing on December 15.

A three-member bench of the apex court led by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed will hear the application.

Rashid had been accused of forcefully acquiring the land, which was in the use of Girls Guide, and including it in the hospital. The court had restrained Rashid from obtaining the land from them.

The application was filed by Girls Guide chairperson.

In 2018, the apex court had ordered the construction of the wall on the land of Girls Guide that had been demolished.

Meanwhile, the interior minister observed that the efforts of the PDM will prove futile.

In a tweet, Rashid noted that no matter how much the opposition try they will not be able to achieve the desired results.

He further maintained that despite being aware of the deadly contagion, the opposition was asking the people to participate in their rallies and declared that the PDM Sunday’s (today) Lahore public gathering will be a “flop show”.
