Muhammad Talal bags ICRC art competition
Muhammad Talal has secured the top spot of an art competition organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The ICRC had organised the art competition, ‘Art Beat’ to promote empathy and respect for healthcare workers during the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic through the promotion of arts and local talent, a spokesperson said. The ICRC said that it had received 90 entries. To evaluate them, the ICRC formulated a panel of judges consisting of renowned local artists including Mehrbano Khattak, Omar Gillani and Nadia Hussain. The adjudged Talal as the winner. The second prize went to Umer Khan and the third prize to Zil-e-Fatima Naeem. They received a cash prize of Rs100,000, Rs80,000 and Rs60,000, respectively. Apart from the top three winners, Noor Fatima, Hafsa Saleem and Rana Salman were awarded Rs30,000 each as special mentions from the judges. “This year has seen a massive shift in the way we live our lives, but those working the healthcare profession have perhaps suffered the most,” said Hussain.
