Row in police dept leads to another reshuffle

A  row between Superintendent Police Investigations Cantonment (SP) Anoush Masood Chaudhry and Senior Superintendent of Police Investigations (SSP) Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani has resulted into the transfer of the former. A few days back, the SSP Investigations had written a letter to SP Anoush pointing out that she was not taking interest in her official duties.

The letter mentioned that she was unaware of developments on key cases and skipped appearance before the court to assist seniors. She was also not available to the public to listen to their grievances, failed to attend district standing board meetings. Chauhdry in a reply to his immediate boss had accused him of misleading the senior police officers and termed his dealing as callous, rude and biased.

She had replied to him that his letter of advice was based on false perceptions and misjudgements. Among others, she had accused him of unduly influencing her in a few important cases. Qaisrani had appeared before IGP Inam Ghani and was directed to stop working as senior SP Investigations. In an order issued on Friday, Ghani has asked Masood to report to Central Police Office Lahore. He on the day issued orders of transfer and posting of 20 other SPs also.

After a lapse of over a month, CIA Wing of Lahore also received an SP after Asim Iftikhar was transferred after a dispute with CCPO Umer Shoib Sheikh during an official meeting. Tauseef Haider currently serving as AIG Enquiries has been posted as SSP CIA Lahore. Meanwhile, Hassan Javed Bhatti has been put on the disposal of Additional IGP South Punjab for further posting.

Hafiz Kamran Asghar awaiting posting has been posted as Addl. SP Iqbal Town Faisalabad. Shahzada Umar Abbass has been transferred and posted as Chief Traffic Officer Faisalabad. Ahmad Arslan has been posted as Additional SP Lyallpur Town. Muhammad Imtiaz Mehmood has posted as SP Investigations Khushab. Wajid Hussain has been appointed as SP RIB Sheikhupura Region.

Atif Hayat’s services have been placed at the disposal of additional IG South Punjab for further posting. Muhammad Amir Khan has been transferred and posted as SSP Investigations Multan. Rab Nawaz’s services have been placed at the disposal of additional IG South Punjab for further posting. Muhammad Waqar Azeem has been transferred and posted as Additional SP City Division Gujranwala.

Kamran Aamir Khan’s services have been placed at the disposal of additional IGP South Punjab for further posting. Avais Shafiq who was awaiting posting has been transferred as Additional SP Civil Lines Division Gujranwala. Hassan Jahangir awaiting posting has been posted as SP Investigation, Sargodha. Syed Muhammad Abbas has been transferred as SP Headquarters, Elite Police Force. Muhammad Raza’s services have been placed at the disposal of Additional IGP South Punjab for further posting. Babur Javed Joyia, who was awaiting posting, has been transferred as SP Investigation, Mianwali. Muhammad Arshad has been transferred and posted as SP Investigation, Cantt. Lahore.
