Another major reshuffle jolts police command

11 DSPs, seven DIG rank officers are transferred

Punjab Police has gone through another massive reshuffle on Friday. At least 11 DSPs were transferred and on Thursday at least seven DIG rank officers (Grade 20) including DIG Investigations Lahore, RPO Sheikhupura and RPO Gujranwala were transferred.

In Thursday night developments, Shahzada Sultan currently serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Investigation Lahore was transferred and posted as Commandant, Police Training College Lahore.

He was replaced by Shariq Jamal (PSP/BS-20), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Telecommunication and Transport Punjab. Ahmad Arslan Malik awaiting posting in Services and General Administration Department, Government of the Punjab was posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Telecommunication and Transport Punjab. Muhammad Hassan Reza Khan currently serving as City Police Officer Multan was transferred and posted as Deputy inspector General of Police, Security Division Lahore in place of Mehmood Rashid Mian.

On the other hand, Mian has been transferred and posted as CPO Multan. Shahid Javed currently serving as Regional Police Officer, Sheikhupura was transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Research & Development at Central Police Office (CPO) Punjab. Inam Waheed Khan currently serving as Deputy Commandant, Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad was transferred and posted as Regional Police Officer, Shelkhupura.

Since the Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf (PTI) government took reigns in Punjab, at least five provincial police chiefs have been transferred and senior police commands too has witnessed major reshuffle or transfer for over ten times. In October, massive reshuffle, the Punjab Police transferred 35 officers within the province, while the services of nine others were surrendered to the Establishment Division in the last 48 hours. Six DIGs have also been transferred to the province.
