Gang of women thieves busted

Separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway

ISLAMABAD:

As many as 15 suspects, including five women who are suspected to be a gang of dacoits, and a three-member gang of carjackers have been arrested while stolen cars, wireless sets, liquor and weapons have been recovered from their possession, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.

A squad of women police officers apprehended five members of a gang of dacoits, identified as Zulaikha, Aamna, Salamat, Zeenat and Noreen. The police claimed to have recovered stolen valuables from them.

An official said that a team of the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) arrested three suspected members of a gang of car thieves, identified as Muhammad Waseem, Muhammad Iqbal and Shahbaz.

Police claimed to have recovered stolen cars from their possession while the Karachi Company police arrested a suspected bootlegger, named Baber, and recovered 13 wine bottles from his possession. Similarly, Tarnol police recovered a stolen vehicle from a suspect, Abdul Aziz. Separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway.
