Former PM Zafarullah Jamali laid to rest

His body was shifted to his hometown via an air ambulance

Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was laid to rest in his ancestral town of Rojhan Jamali in Balochistan on Thursday.

The former PM passed away on Wednesday (December 2) at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology & National Institute of Heart Diseases in Rawalpindi where he was under treatment after suffering a heart attack. For the last couple of days, he was on ventilator in the Coronary Care Unit of the hospital. Earlier in May, he had recovered from the coronavirus.

His body was shifted to his hometown via an air ambulance.

Jamali, who served as the premier from November 2002 until June 2004, was the first and only prime minister who hailed from Balochistan. He had joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf shortly before the 2018 elections.

Member of the National Assembly Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali, senior parliamentarian Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Revenue Minister Mir Salim Ahmed Khosa, provincial ministers Mir Izhar Hussain Khosa, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Mir Faiq Khan Jamali, Sardar Haroon Khan Jamali, Zulfiqar Khan Jamaali, Sardar Manzoor Khan Panhwar, Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Hussain Bhangar, advisers, tribal elders and people from different walks of life attended the funeral.
