Ashrafi lauds OIC support over Kashmir

He added that seminaries and Christian community representatives had agreed to strictly follow the SOPs

ISLAMABAD:

Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Tahir Ashrafi on Wednesday hailed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for extending support to Pakistan over Kashmir issue and categorically rejected the question of recognising Israel till resolution of Palestine issue.

Talking to reporters, Ashrafi thanked the OIC for negating the propaganda of vested interests that Kashmir was not on its agenda, adding that some 57 countries had supported Pakistan over Kashmir issue.

“The OIC declaration is testimony to successful foreign policy of the country,” he said and urged the government and the opposition to settle the issue through dialogue. However, he added dialogue was not possible on condition of impeding accountability of the corrupt.

The PM’s aide urged the people to follow SOPs to stem the spread of covid-19. “The country’s mosques are already observing SOPs as Pakistan is the only country in which mosques remained open during the pandemic,” Ashrafi said.

He added that seminaries and Christian community representatives had agreed to strictly follow the SOPs for prevention of Covid-19 pandemic in their respective Christmas and other gatherings.
