Owais Noorani claims PPP guards barred him from PDM Multan address
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) looks to have hit a roadblock after Shah Owais Noorani, the general secretary of Jamiat-ul-Pakistan (JUP), claimed that he was stopped from getting on the opposition movement rally’s stage by Pakistan Peoples Party workers in Multan on Monday.
Shah, who is the son of the party’s former head, the late Shah Ahmed Noorani, took to Twitter to express his anguish over the incident.
He said that despite being called three times onto the stage, the guards in gray and black uniforms did not allow him to go up, adding that,” All PDM leaders face a risk to their lives not just for PPP leadership.
He lamented saying,” The behavior is very unfortunate".
While federal minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, hit out against the alleged mistreatment of Shah.”The behavior of PML-N and PPP security guards towards Maulana Noorani's son is reprehensible, “ he wrote on his official handle.
The jalsa was overshadowed by a fire that broke out and engulfed a building near the venue as soon as PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz began her address.
