Not enough hours in the day for Pakistan's leading fitness professional

Usman Samir is known for the exclusivity of his clientele and tailor-made workout routines

Usman Samir is one of Pakistan’s leading fitness professionals. He has developed an exclusive fitness programme that caters to a select clientele, including men and women of high net worth, business tycoons and executives from around the country.

As a personal trainer, Samir helps each individual client achieve the best version of themselves by taking their pre-existing injuries, anatomy, bio-mechanics, as well as their goal, age and capabilities into consideration. He specialises in functional strength training, calisthenics and conditioning.

Samir attribues his success to persistent hard work and a rigorous daily routine that starts at 4am. "There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day for me to get things done."

For him, waking up before everyone else gives him a headstart and, more importantly, time to the self for meditation and prayer.

"After that, I can focus all my energy and efforts on providing the best service possible to my clients, loved ones and those who need my help."

Working with some of the top men and women from the corporate and business sector also seems to have rubbed off on him.

"They might have different personalities but they all have the same work ethic and habits," he says about his clients whose name he cannot divulge due to privacy reasons.

"They all wake up early, they know how to tackle the day, they have a plan. They are all grateful people. They all have a tenacious approach to life and all are very charitable," says Samir.

However, he adds that he is never overwhelmed by their achievements. Instead, he is able to guide these individuals to strive for better in an area in which he has the expertise. This work ethic is also reflected in his stoical outlook.

"There will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself. One must strive to be the best version of him/ herself and express all that you are to the world without competing," he remarks.

Samir says his success is proof that actions and intentions are always rewarded if one works with passion and persistence.

He is finding the same success on digital platforms, including Instagram, where he is somewhat of a celebrity. He has also made forays into the world of venture capital while also fulfilling his socail responsibility by providing personal micro loans to individuals with business plans.
